The Keowee Sailing Club was formed in 1972 and is located on Highway 130, 2 miles North of US 123 in Seneca, SC on one of the most beautiful lakes in the Southeast. Having 225 active members
who have a love for wind, water, and the magic of sailing. The members enjoy sailboat racing, pleasure cruising, skill building, social functions and maintenance of the club.
All members share in the running and maintaining of the club and grounds which includes dock building to general cleanup and committee work. Racing consists of club races and regattas coordinated by the committees. Skill building activities and special cruising occur throughout the year along with social activities such as potluck dinners and their annual Commodore’s Ball.
The Keowee Sailing Club is a 4 acre site which has a clubhouse with meeting space, kitchen, and restrooms with showers. It also has two beach areas, picnic tables, grills and camping space. The club have over 130 slips for sailboats with a large parking area for trailerable boats that are dry sailed.
As you will see, Keowee Sailing Club is not just a place to launch and dock a sailboat, but an active group of sailors who enjoy sharing and improving their club.
